To all,
Just wanted to tell you that Jeff and I just returned from Vietnam yesterday. It was truly one of the most memorable abroad experiences we have ever had in our lives. Japan Air Lines was wonderful. Their staff is great, so polite and accommodating; I would recommend it to anyone.
Vietnam as a country was amazing to us. The people are so warm, embracing and hardworking, not to mention forgiving toward us for that very tragic war. While in Ho Chi Minh City our last day, I very much wanted to go to the War Remnants Museum (not on your itinerary because of the sensitivity of the issue) and managed to get there with four other people on the tour. You might want to consider putting it on the itinerary; it is graphic and so very sad, but important nonetheless.
The hotels were beyond our expectations, food fabulous and places we visited so interesting. My only recommendation is that perhaps a museum or two could be included and perhaps one or two less pagodas, if at all possible, could you let me know how we can stay connected to the orphanage in Hue we visited? Jeff and I would like to be of help, either financially or in some other way and wonder if there is a contact person there for us to stay in touch with.
And finally, our guides Dinh and Hung were both exceptional the entire time we were with them. Dinh has so much knowledge of his country, is such a gentle soul, so warm, so patient and so loves his country. Hung is a real charmer and also so very competent. He is a natural leader and is so comfortable with himself and with others. They were a remarkable team; hardly a question they could not answer, and only wanted to accommodate any special little requests any of us had--not easy to do with any group--but they did and led a flawless tour. They were just the best!!
So thank you, thank you, thank you! We will recommend VBT to all of our friends and hope to join you again soon.
All the best,
Andrea
